Jean-Pierre Attal – Ethnographic Landscapes

Preview

With his project Ethnographic Landscapes, the artist position himself here as an ethnographer who thinks of the working world in a recontextualised  natural environments. These snapshots are a collection of information; it reveals offices employees, executives and other business men/women  of La Défense who contribute to document in a neutral way the reality of a social category.

The population studied by Jean-Pierre Attal belongs to the business world , but these protagonists have been moved into an imaginary scenography. New horizons are open, territories without limits evoke future opportunities.

This exhibition is part of an important collaboration with Maison Balenciaga. Demna Gvasalia, the artistic director of the brand, was indeed interested in the work of the artist and in this series in particular. He commissioned a series of images and a video for the fall-winter 2019 collection that will be presented as part of this exhibition.
