Our friend June…Helmut’s Eminence Grise..
June was an extraordinary woman and having known her from 1974 until now has been a great experience in my life. Mary Jane and I and Helmut and June would meet in many different places over the years. Monte Carlo, Palm Springs, New Orleans, Miami, New York, Paris, Le Muy, Hollywood, Berlin…always an adventure with a lot of laughs and some sad moments as well.
June was an exceptional portrait photographer. She could be enormously disarming and put one at ease immediately with her charm and natural elegance. I never succeeded in making a portrait of her that embraced her many attributes but she definitely understood me.
