We learned of the death of Fadi Zahar, founder in 1980 of the Bookstore-Gallery La Chambre Claire. Fadi Zahar was passionate about photography and a lover of books. The creation of La Chambre Claire was an opportunity for him to combine these two passions. For nearly 40 years, La Chambre Claire was a major photography institution in Paris and an international reference. His gallery has also helped to highlight the work of renowned and emerging photographers. When retiring, Fadi Zahar wanted to pass the torch to his two long-time collaborators, Jensen Samoo and Catherine Rambaud.
