Éric Colmet-Daage has died.
He was the artistic director of PHOTO for 50 years.
He joined the magazine from the beginnings in 1967.
I shared with him the magazine’s best years: 1970-1983, when Roger Thérond’s passion for photography sent us all over the world to discover new photographers and new images.
He also had a consuming obsession with technology and modernity.
This obsession led him to create a new column for Lui magazine that would become legendary: La défonce du consommateur ! (The Consumer’s High!)
A mind-blowing column that, as we now discover, heralded all the changes of the new century.
