The most important place in my home is the kitchen, or more exactly, the kitchen table. And this is where the idea for this series of photos originated, like a kind of “kitchen table Journal”.

A black hole is a region in space where the pulling force of gravity is so strong that light is not able to escape, just like a simple coffee table in the coffeehouse.
At first, from a cultural standpoint, coffeehouses largely served as center of social interaction: the coffeehouse provided patrons with a place to congregate, talk, read, write, entertain with one another, or spend leisure time, whether individually or in small groups. The intellectual sphere of life was widely shaped around coffee tables. The coffeehouse became the center of attraction just like a black hole.

Pierrick Bourgault[email protected]www.monbar.net

Author of some thirty works, Pierrick Bourgault tells the stories of cafés, bars and bistros in words and photos. His aim is to discover other people in their own worlds; try to understand, report and pay homage. No staging or special lighting, just a simple fragment of reality and the gaze and presence of the people photographed.
