GwinZegal and its Residencies ‘Les Essentielles’

Preview

After presenting the superb retrospective “Madeleine de Sinéty” (which gave birth to a stunning book), the Breton art center GwinZegal faced the closure of cultural venues by inviting five young photographers in residency. The artists Quentin Yvelin, Rebecca Topakian, Camille Millerand, Nina Ferrer-Gleiz and Lucile Boiron came to work and develop their projects in Guingamp (Britanny, France) in March and April 2021.

Their work is summarized in short videos.

Each artist was accompanied by art professionals to frame their work and develop their series – like Sten Lena (print maker) Rémi Coignet (critic), Julie Hérault (curator at the Bal), Étienne Bernard, (director of Frac Bretagne), Jean-Kenta Gauthier (gallery owner), Maxence Rifflet (artist), Pascal Beausse (responsible for the photographic collection of the CNAP), Bruno Serralongue (artist), Milan Garcin (art historian), Raphaël Dallaporta (artist) and the Art Center team.
