American photographer Barbara Alper has released a new set of limited edition prints through the Getty Images Gallery. With a trained photojournalistic eye, Alper has been documenting significant cultural events on the streets and in more intimate surroundings for 40+ years. This selection of thirty-nine images from her archives, made in collaboration with Getty Images Gallery curator Shawn Waldron, features views of New York street characters and scenery, protest and Pride marches, erotic balls, beach-goers, and travel in both black & white and color.
