Gerwyn Davies work gives a performative approach to image making. Showcasing an inventory of characters, Davies constructs and contrasts costumes, locations, themes and the hyper-real. The intentional layering aims to reinvent the body and serve as a digital habitat. Disparate materials, concealment, and the reanimation of popular iconography and myth, provide another means for perception and step away from the often contrived photographic image.
