Fujikina – The Rencontres d’Arles 2025 Programme

Preview

After a well-received first edition, FUJIKINA returns to Arles from July 8 to 12, 2025, with an expanded program, now officially part of the Rencontres d’Arles for the first time. Here’s a look at the highlights of this second edition.

Held in the former ENSP building at the heart of the city, this event initiated by Fujifilm offers full immersion into the world of contemporary photography, combining technological innovation, artistic creation, and knowledge-sharing. This year’s edition celebrates time as a revealer a common thread running through a rich program of exhibitions, workshops, talks, photo walks, and equipment demonstrations.

One of the standout moments of this edition is undoubtedly the exhibition A World in Color, the result of a long-standing partnership between Fujifilm and Magnum Photos. Presented at Galerie Arena throughout the summer, it brings together rare color archives from Magnum’s collection currently being digitized at the Médiathèque du Patrimoine et de la Photographie using Fujifilm’s GFX technology and a new series created in France by photographer Gregory Halpern. This heritage and forward-looking project reflects Fujifilm’s commitment to preserving photographic history while also supporting contemporary creation.

In line with this goal of supporting and promoting artistic production, FUJIKINA is hosting a series of exhibitions, viewable exclusively during the opening week, showcasing the work of Laura Bonnefous (Souffle Aride), Mathias Zwick (The Silent Shore), and Marion Dubier-Clark. Mathias Benguigui and Jonathan Bertin also present a joint exhibition, dialoguing through images taken with the instax™ camera. Additionally, Fujifilm brings together a significant number of renowned photographers longtime collaborators and users of the GFX100RF for a special group exhibition to mark the camera’s release.

Alongside this, nearly 100 activities will be offered, including portfolio reviews, guided photo outings, and workshops, as well as talks with internationally acclaimed photographers such as guest of honor Raymond Depardon, who will speak about Magnum Photos’ archives housed by the Médiathèque du Patrimoine et de la Photographie. Brand ambassadors including Laura Bonnefous, Mathias Benguigui, Magali Delporte, Julien Apruzzese, and Jonathan Bertin will also lead a variety of activities. Visitors will have the opportunity to try out Fujifilm’s latest innovations, including the new GFX100RF and the latest Instax models, all designed for immediate hands-on discovery. A “Check and Clean” service will also be available for attendees to have their gear serviced on-site.

Finally, staying true to its commitment to emerging artists and the local community, Fujifilm is continuing its partnership with ENSP. Two alumnae of the school duo Hervé & Martinez (Marie-Anne Hervé & Elsa Martinez) will present a poetic and experimental series exploring the relationship between humans, material, and territory. Portfolio reviews will also be held on-site. The brand is also supporting the launch of Arles Créative, a new municipal space dedicated to new visual media. Through this fusion of heritage, innovation, and knowledge-sharing, FUJIKINA has now established itself as a key event on the European photography scene at the crossroads of art and technology.
