To coincide with the exhibition at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, the work of Françoise Huguier is also being exhibited at the Polka gallery with Étrange Beautés.
Françoise Huguier’s world is dense. She draws inspiration from around the globe, and her attraction to strangeness can be felt throughout her work. A cinephile, she has been influenced by the work of Andrei Tarkovsky, Jim Jarmusch and Satyajit Ray, whom she met and photographed on several occasions in Calcutta. In her work, where barbarism and refinement coexist so well, Huguier continues to develop her offbeat vision.
