Artist, architect, and philosopher Marc Brabant presents his works in his first solo exhibition at the Fiminco Foundation.
He brings together two recent series, Retour en Arcadie, Les Faiseurs de mythes, (Back to Arcadia, Makers of Myths), (2024) and Kataklusmos, Les Mondes du premier homme, (First Man’s Worlds), (2025), in which he defends a unique vision of architecture as art. His creations, impulsive territorial interventions, are the fruit of an intense intellectual and physical dedication to architectural experimentation. In the exhibition space, they are presented as photographic works, artist’s books, and sculptures.
Marc Brabant’s approach is grounded in a dual imperative: to experiment with physical materials in space and to question the place of architecture in the field of art. His in situ interventions, created in a few hours using natural materials (sand, stone, water, pigments), are destined to disappear, swept away by the elements.
Through photography, books, and sculpture, they acquire renewed significance. This oscillation between the ephemeral and the lasting becomes a field of poetic, philosophical, and art exploration, questioning the necessity of myths, poetics, and ways of inhabiting the world.
Among all these productions, where then is the work?
In each person’s free projection, in free ways of living.
