Éditions Leila Alaoui is a photographic patronage initiative designed to support the creation of a cultural venue with strong symbolic significance: the Leila Alaoui Intercultural Centre, currently under construction in Fontvieille, in the Tour des Abbés.
This space is intended to welcome artists, researchers and the public around major contemporary themes – exile, memory, transmission – in line with Leila Alaoui’s commitments.
The sale of this print will help finance:
– the launch of the centre’s development work,
– the installation of the first technical equipment (museum lighting, circulation, ventilation),
– the implementation of the scenography and the preparation of the artistic programme.
‘Print in support of the creation of the Leila Alaoui Intercultural Centre’.
Purchasing a print is above all a way of supporting Leïla Alaoui’s commitment — that of a humanist artist who has put her art at the service of dignity and dialogue. Through her work, she has defended the rights and visibility of migrants, celebrated cultural diversity, and sought to reconcile the memories of both sides of the Mediterranean.
Her photography, at the crossroads of documentary and poetic vision, bears the mark of a deeply humanitarian and universal commitment. This acquisition is therefore not simply an art purchase: it is part of an impactful cultural patronage initiative.
The work on offer — Souk de Boumia, 2010, from the series Les Marocains — celebrates an ancestral gesture: carrying water. It embodies essential, deeply human values that run through Leila Alaoui’s entire body of work and form the basis of the centre’s mission.
This edition is exclusive and strictly limited. It represents a unique opportunity to acquire an iconic work at an affordable price, while contributing to the opening of a space dedicated to memory, image, and support for contemporary creation.

The CILA
By supporting the creation of the Leïla Alaoui Intercultural Centre in Fontvieille and the renovation of the Tour des Abbès, each buyer contributes to perpetuating this legacy — one of fair-mindedness, committed art and the hope of passing on knowledge.
The Leila Alaoui Intercultural Centre (CILA) is a space dedicated to the exploration and promotion of the visual arts in the Mediterranean context. Inspired by the work of Leila Alaoui, we are committed to using art as a means of reflection, dialogue and social engagement. At CILA, we believe in the ability of the visual arts to transcend borders and create deep connections between cultures. We aim to bring Mediterranean memories into dialogue and build bridges between generations, territories and narratives.
