Havas Gallery presents DES MOTS ET DES IMAGES, a light-hearted, poetic encounter between photography and literature, two distinct forms of expression interwoven with affection and irony to tease our imagination.
The aim of Havas Gallery, a concept gallery conceived by the advertising agency Havas Paris, is to create encounters across the divides, promote the artists and their creative wealth, and initiate experiences centred on still and moving images. On this basis it has organised a number of art exhibitions in recent years related to advertising design.
DES MOTS ET DES IMAGES presents a selection taken from two photographic exhibitions produced by Havas Gallery: PHOTO-ROMAN and MARQUE-PAGE.
PHOTO-ROMAN (PHOTO-NOVEL) brings together some 200 photographs inspired by the writings of some of the literary greats. In many novels, writers describe photographs that we could be forgiven for thinking existed only in their imagination. The photographers were given carte blanche to bring their descriptions to life.
MARQUE-PAGE (BOOKMARK) is a gently subversive collision between art and marketing, a game in which various brand universes are playfully juxtaposed with the worlds evoked by different books, telling a new story.
