Gone Too Far is a visual and intimate exploration — a photographic book that questions the boundary between clarity and chaos, between what we control and what moves through us. Shot on analog black-and-white film, this project is a journey in which the lands-cape is no longer a backdrop, but an inner mirror.
Through a sensitive photographic language, Atef Talbi offers an experience of looking
— a silent dialogue with nature, solitude, and motion. The images, often wrapped in mist, diffuse light or deep contrast, reveal the fragile territory of the in-between: that delicate space where the visible fades, and the essential emerges.
Born from a moment of rupture and reevaluation in 2022, Gone Too Far is rooted as much in the field as in the darkroom: a slow, physical, meditative practice where each photo-graph is shaped as much as it is witnessed.
The title evokes both geographical movement and inner distance — that fragile line one sometimes crosses in order to return to oneself.
Atef Talbi
Born in Tunisia, Atef Talbi lives and works between Rio de Janeiro and Paris. An engineer by trai-ning, he developed a passion for photogra-phy at an early age. His artistic work revol-ves around the experience of travel and the encounter with the unknown. His practice is a continuous search, a way of
questioning nature and tracing the intimate evolution of the gaze he casts upon it.
