The Jules & Jim Hotel Opened its doors five years ago on December 26th 2011. If it’s good to sleep there or meet over a glass, it’s also a space for arousing and sharing our passion for art. The main entrance to the hotel takes the visitors directly to the 15 metre-long gallery. This exhibition space extends into the courtyard and into the bar. It had been conceived at the very beginnings of the construction to integrate fully this artistic activity out of concern and respect for the work of the artists being shown. The Jules & Jim Hotel collaborates with Parisian photographic galleries to offer its guests as well as Parisian visitors the opportunity to discover and rediscover some of the artists. Since 2014, the hotel has included in its programme every year an exhibition dedicated to street art or to illustration.
With the exhibition ®éveil, the Jules & Jim celebrates Paris, alive and rich with creativity. The choice of 23 works (photography, street art, and illustration) is a common thread of this timeless capital, without any bias other than that of presenting the work of modern and contemporary artists who “speak” by offering an eclectic vision of the city. Simply and freely. The artists being shown include: Truc-Anh (Galerie Sator), Gail Albert Halaban (Galerie Esther Woerdehoff), Stéphane Couturier (La Galerie Particulière), Robert Doisneau (Galerie Françoise Paviot), Marc Riboud (Maison Européenne de la Photographie) and also Kourtney Roy (Galerie Catherine et André Hug).
