Dragan Novakovic, London Remembered

Preview

A newcomer to England and a beginner in photography during my London days, I found the seemingly boundless city breathtakingly fascinating and used every opportunity in my spare time to get to know it better. In those years, 1968-1977, I found it a very pleasant place to live: the times were good, the people were friendly and easy-going, the pace was relaxed, and there was always something exciting going on in the worlds of art, music, fashion, sports…

Because I was purely an amateur I had no assignments, projects or deadlines to worry about, so I combined my passion for photography and my love of exploring places on foot to roam the city at leisure and to go wherever my fancy took me. What I liked in particular about London were the endless opportunities it offered for seeing something new and exciting and completely different: however well you thought you knew it (and I dare say I knew it better than any of my Londoner friends), you never knew what surprise was awaiting you around the next corner and you could spend all your life strolling the city’s streets without seeing it all. I could not have wished for more.
