Nature, like man, must be “tamed” to create a beautiful photo; you must find the right frame, the right distance, move around it, change points of view to finally sublimate its full essence.
Man, but also Nature, are at the heart of my concerns, and the models participate in the creation of my images. They are its fragile essence, facing a world that is increasingly interconnected but less and less connected. This Man lives on an increasingly damaged Earth, undergoing increasing climate disruptions for commercial reasons, where unbridled globalization is wreaking havoc on the land and its people. I took nature photos in the Camargue and at Piémanson beach. The models were photographed against a black background in the studio. I then edited them to create a personal world.
This series was exhibited throughout September at Biocoop Arelate – 24 Avenue Victor Hugo, Arles.
