Founded and led since 2009 by Olivier Cablat and Sebastian Hau, COSMOS is conceived as a laboratory of expression of emerging practices in photography, publishing and the visual arts. It celebrates the variety and singularity of photographic practices, with a special interest in publishing, a creative medium which has played an important role for artists and photographers over the past 15 years. COSMOS-Arles Books helds from 6 to 11 July at the Magasin Électrique in the Parc des Ateliers.
Cosmos-Arles Books is a Rencontres d’Arles satellite event dedicated to new publishing practices hosts over 80 international publishers. Cosmos-Arles Books presents also 10 exhibitions, meetings, pop-up’s, booksignings, many events around photobooks.
Embodying that energy, Cosmos-Arles Books’ artistic direction has been entrusted to Olivier Cablat and Sebastian Hau (Cosmos) and Sam Stourdzé, director of the Rencontres d’Arles.
