In “Faits Divers” [New in brief], the work of the artist consists in introducing anonymous people whose hidden secrets he reveals in order to give them a posthumous glory. These actions, unrespectable not to say criminal. In most of the cases, they are often tragic and violent facts of life regarded by the press as information devoid of any interest. Through his productions, Thomas Martin underlines the need for the reader to see and watch the news in brief in the newspaper, even though they only represent a minor part of the informations.
Born in 1988, Thomas Martin was trained at the école d’arts plastiques of Saint-Etienne where he had film photography and video courses. He is currently pursuing his training in Paris and in Lyon. In 2010 he took part in the exhibition of the Lyon école supérieure d’architecture.
