Cabinet de Curiosités –Thomas Erber at Browns

Preview

After a successful exhibition at Colette in Paris in 2010, Thomas Erber is now taking his cabinet of curiosity to London and Browns. Apart from a very selective amount of exclusive fashion items and accessories from brands like Superfine, Rodarte, Pierre Hardy and Maison Kitsuné the exhibition also contains a few photographs from Thomas’ friends and collaborators.

When shown at Colette the selection of images, by photographers like Jan Welters, Nadav Kander, Claude Gassian and Marcel Hartman, seemed to be done only by emotional criterias. There were portraits of Alexander McQueen, Daniel Lanois and Leonard Cohen all over time interviewed by Thomas who started as music journalist.

The selection of images at Browns are all gathered around the concept of ”Somewhere”. Thomas commissioned each photographer to provide and frame a single image so the collector not only owns a photograph but a real ”objet”.

The contributing photographers are Elina Kechicheva, John Pepper, Valerie Sadoune, Robert Holden, Benoit Peverelli, Geoffroy de Boismenu and Thomas Gizholm & Aliné Diepois.
