‘Le Ventre’ (The Belly) is a complete fictional universe, with complex laws, enemy factions and a strange and ancient mythology. It is the setting of a dark and mystical novel, theatrical performances and a series of photographs. The exhibition [MARTYRS] presents a series of portraits of old-world saints: martyrs, executioners, inquisitors and ascetics who renounced their human identity to immerse themselves in divine serenity... We see their tortured bodies and radiant and lifeless faces: the mystical elevation beyond suffering.
