Berlin: On the Move: 100 Years of Capturing Movement in Photography

Preview

The °CLAIR gallery is curating a new exhibition that explores movement as captured by the most acclaimed photographers of the past century.

The On the Move exhibition features both legendary photographers such as Lee Miller, Jacques Henri Lartigue, Philippe Halsman, and Alvin Langdon Coburn, and the brightest stars of contemporary photography such as Oliver Mark, Gundula Friese, Chien-Chi Chang, and Petr Lovigin.

“It is extraordinary to have so many exceptional photographers on display at one time,” says Anna-Patricia Kahn, the director of the °CLAIR Gallery and the curator of On the Move. “This is a tremendous opportunity to see how motion has been interpreted by the greatest artists photography has known.”

The exhibition features more than 100 photographs from 13 photographers. The work spans more than a century, from the earliest photographs by Alvin Langdon Coburn (1882-1966) to an original photo series created for the exhibition by Russian photographer Petr Lovigin (b. 1981).
