I wanted to hold this exhibition to put the spotlight on this fascinating phenomenon, which is relatively unknown in France. Yet there are plenty of very passionate fans, sharing their enthusiasm on the web. It is more than just a hobby – there is often an artistic involvement; it could even be called a way of life. The dolls are so sophisticated that their somewhat disturbing gaze immediately drew me in. They seem to give off some kind of aura. You can’t not be affected by them
