Art Paris 2013 –The Russian Galleries

Preview

Russia is the guest of honor this year, with a dozen galleries from across the country, from Saint Petersburg to Vladivostok, most exhibiting for the first time. Many Western galleries will also be showcasing over 90 of their Russian artists. For head curator Guillaume Piens, Russian photography occupies a very important place: “Here we have established figures like Nikolay Bakharev, well-known artists like Olga Chernysheva and Anastasia Gorochoriva, and emerging talent like Petr Lovigin and Katerina Belkina, who was recently awarded the Kandinsky Prize. There will also be Alexeï Vassiliev, whose work is currently on view at the Maison Victor Hugo.”
