On the occasion of the Off des Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles 2025, Jean-François Robert unveils a new immersive scenography of his emblematic series “CE QUE L’EAU NOUS DIT,” the result of twelve years of photographic research on water. The exhibition will be open daily from July 7 to October 5, 2025, at the recently renovated JF Robert Gallery in the heart of Arles.
Already hailed as a “highlight” of the Rencontres by the newspaper La Provence, this series returns enhanced, in a transformed setting. Interplays of light, materials, and sensory atmospheres accompany this visual dive between the Maori springs of New Zealand and the waters of Provence, the artist’s intimate and inspiring territory.
With images that have not been manipulated, captured in the moment, Jean-François Robert explores the vibration of reality: shapes, textures, reflections, and emotions form a poetic and universal language. This immersive experience invites visitors to escape the hustle and bustle and experience a suspended moment, between contemplation and wonder.
A wonderful summer event in Arles, just a stone’s throw from the Town Hall, in a place designed as a sensory and artistic refuge, a true oasis of calm and beauty.
