American pop-rock singer Hamilton Leithauser, known as the former leader of The Walkmen, used a famous photograph of Englishman Bill Brandt for the cover of his latest album entitled I Had a Dream That You Were Mine, directed with producer Rostam. In a musical review published last September, the New York Times describes Leithauser’s voice as “one of the most tactile voices in rock”, and the album an examination “of unrequited obsession in the form of a recurring dream”. Dreaming is also one of the messages of Bill Brandt’s photograph, entitled Portrait of a Young Girl, Eaton Place, 1955. Proof that music and photography often borrow crossed paths, as it has been previously described in a show, Total Records, The great adventure of album cover photography, exhibited at Les Rencontres d’Arles in 2015.
