56th International Fair of Photography in Bièvres

Preview

Organized by the Photoclub Paris Val-de-Bievre with the commune of Bievres, the International Photo Fair mobilizes every year dozens of volunteers to accommodate the thousands of visitors who flock to its aisles.

In 55 years, this high mass of photography has not aged. It lives with its time, offers quality old equipment and, since 2018, has opened to the new market. Exhibitions, conferences, guided tours and events enrich the event and appeal to a wide audience of lovers and professionals of photography.

For 48 hours, the heart of Bièvres beats to the rhythm of photography welcoming exhibitors and visitors from around the world.

This market remains, even today, the largest market of the occasion and photographic antiques in France and probably in Europe.

It extends over more than one hectare, brings together about 200 exhibitors, 30% of whom are foreigners. Thousands of objects, images or documents are offered for sale. For amateurs, this market is a real treasure hunt.

Renowned for the diversity and rarity of certain pieces, it broadens its field to rare books and promotional items related to photography, cinema (cameras, posters, projectors, films production stills ).

There are accessories (camera stands, lenses, lenses, enlargers …), material (photographic paper, film, …) but also all the photographic antiques (stereoscopic viewers, large format camera …).

Every year, with the support of the City of Bièvres, the fair offers the exhibition of a renowned photographer who also hosts a guided tour highlighting his approach to photography. After Olivier Culmann, Jane Evelyn Atwood, Claude and John Batho, Isabel Muñoz, Denis Bourges will be the guest of the Fair in 2019.
