22nd edition of the Photaumnales

Preview

The 22nd edition of the Photaumnales, with the theme Habiter & Brasil, will take place from September 20 to December 31, 2025.

To live is much more than residing or dwelling: it is to invest a space with meaning, memory, and connection. Through their perspectives on architecture, heritage, and buildings, the guest artists of this 22nd edition of the Photaumnales question what constitutes a “home”: a physical place, of course, but also a symbolic, sometimes mystical territory, an emotional and identity anchor. From the intimate to the collective, from ruin to home, the images presented resonate with us as with our roots, our belonging, and our way of inhabiting the world—or of allowing ourselves to be inhabited by it. The theme of this edition is part of the festivities marking the 800th anniversary of the construction of Saint-Pierre Cathedral in Beauvais. The festival spans the entire region with more than 25 exhibitions related to architecture and buildings in the Beauvaisis metropolitan area, Clermont-de-l’Oise and the Clermontois community of communes, and this year in the Aisne region with the Familistère in Guise and the Échangeur in Château Thierry.

Awarded as part of the France-Brazil Season by the Institut français, part of the program will feature Brazilian photography, with a particular exhibition dedicated to the contemporary photography scene in Minas Gerais at the Musée Opale Sud in Berck-sur-Mer.
