The New York Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP NY) hosted its TENTH Annual Fine Art Portfolio Review on the evening of February 18th. This free event is for members of ASMP.
As they have been doing for the last decade, influential gallerists, curators, collectors, publishers and dealers reviewed portfolios and shared honest feedback that photographers rarely get. Each reviewer nominated one photographer whose portfolio is published today in this special edition of L’Oeil de la Photographie.
The Review was held in Greenwich Village at the LGBT Center which recently underwent a $9M renovation. The review was preceded by a VIP Reception for the reviewers and, to show appreciation to the reviewers, it ended with an after-party at Rossopomodoro, also in Greenwich Village.
The American Society of Media Photographers is the premier trade association for the world’s most respected photographers. ASMP is the leader in promoting photographer’s rights, providing education in better business practices, producing business publications for photographers, and helping to connect the purchasers with professional photographers. ASMP, founded in 1944, has nearly 7,000 members and 39 chapters. The New York chapter of ASMP is the largest chapter of the organization with 900 professional photographers as its members, many of whom have spent decades in the industry.
