This exhibition takes a new look at the work of Willy Rizzo. For the first time, the Willy Rizzo Studio is giving you a 360 ° virtual tour of Willy Rizzo’s “OUTDOOR PORTRAITS” exhibition by inviting you into his Studio, in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
At the center of this presentation, around twenty traditional prints were chosen combining the art of outdoor portraiture and its staging. For each of these portraits, Willy Rizzo recreated an exterior Studio to welcome natural light “and then, it was the will of heaven, luck. The lucky star must be on your side ”. This decor reinforced the authenticity brought to photography and tells us a story, Willy Rizzo excelled this way.
In these prints on display Willy Rizzo perceives much more than the environment by managing to make it something important, to create a dynamic and give it a look like with Monroe, Penn, Dietrich, Nicholson, Bardot, Picasso …
His warm presence, his communicative good humor, his wit and natural elegance made the masks fall. His images are always the result of a friendly encounter and a shared intimacy with his subjects.
“It’s not easy to be photographed, it takes a lot of concentration, patience. It’s the same for the photographer. When we are at the level of looking for more than the photo, it requires an immense effort. Past this effort, something remains.”
