Vendôme, Promenades Photographiques 2011

Preview

For the seventh year in a row, the Promenades Photographiques will take place during the summer at Vendôme. This small county in the Loir-et-Cher region will host until next September 18, more than twenty exhibitions devoted to photography, via a walk through numerous prestigious sites in the town, such as the Saint-Jacques chapel, the museum and courtyard of the Cloître de l’Abbaye, passing by the park of the castle and the Manège Rochambeau, which will feature the majority of the exhibitions.

Guy Bourreau, President of the association of the Promenades Photographiques and Odile Andrieu, Director of the festival hope to offer a show of quality, through different photographic paths and aimed to all: professionals, enthusiasts and neophytes, and featuring a program that includes 20 international famous photographers or those with a promising future.

“The twenty-three proposed exhibitions cross an eclectic yet timeless photographic field. Will we be making of this seventh edition, the edition of wisdom? Of reason? Or on reflection on the path of dreams and imagination for a program with a strong emotional load?” Odile Andrieu.

For the 2011 edition, two new events will enrich the festival with rendez-vous from the Internationaux de l’Enseignement Photographique and an auction expected for the opening weekend. 10 exceptional marinas by Gustave Le Gray will be on auction.
