Disco Pogo have announced a photography exhibition celebrating one of the most celebrated bands of our time LCD Soundsystem at The Social in central London available to visit from January 16 until February 4, 2026.
The exhibition brings together photography by the band’s go-to photographer Ruvan Wijesooriya taken from a new book LCD Soundsystem: Disco Pogo Tribute which offers unique insight into the band. The richly illustrated book has been brought to life by the team behind Disco Pogo who have a long-standing relationship with James Murphy, LCD Soundsystem and the wider DFA crew which gives them a unique insight into the band.
Ruvan Wijesooriya’s ability to connect with people from the moment they meet allows him to create work that is both diverse and deeply authentic. His portfolio spans music, nightlife, various styles of portraiture, abstract landscapes, advertising, flowers—even a school yearbook in Afghanistan. At first glance, his work may seem eclectic, but a closer look reveals a common thread: a deep understanding of people and place.
The third instalment in the Disco Pogo Tribute series celebrates the best electronic post-punk band on the planet, LCD Soundsystem. The latest installment follows the hugely successful Disco Pogo Tribute books on Daft Punk and Aphex Twin that have been reprinted numerous times.
As with both previous books, the team behind Disco Pogo have a long-standing relationship with James Murphy, LCD Soundsystem and the wider DFA crew which gives them a unique insight into the band.
Edited by Disco Pogo editor Jim Butler, this richly illustrated tribute to LCD Soundsystem features interviews, essays and features from the best music journalists working today, alongside a timeline, family tree, gear and gig lists. The beautifully designed 308 page book also features archive LCD Soundsystem features from Jockey Slut and Dummy magazines.
The book features an iconic cover portrait of James Murphy by unofficial/official LCD photographer Ruvan Wijesooriya, plus a huge amount of exclusive, never-before-seen photography from Ruvan, Tim Soter, Tim Saccenti and other photographers who have been close to LCD since the very beginning of their career.
