New York
I moved to New York
My pictures didn’t seem to be in great demand at this moment so
I spent a lot of time doing graphic design and typography.
But thanks to some great stylists and art directors
I still did good editorial stories and advertising.
And then photography came round again…

Back to Paris
One night in New York I met Franca Sozzani, who I hadn’t seen since the days of Lei magazine in the 1980s.
Then strangely we met again three days later at the Staley-Wise Gallery, where I had some of my Jimi Hendrix pictures.
She thought this was ‘too much of a coincidence’.
Three weeks later, thanks to Franca, I was back in France, working for Vogue Italia.
I then realised there was a whole new world of fashion magazines.
And my career as a fashion photographer seemed to start all over again.
My style has evolved with the new digital technology but I guess it still looks almost the same.
When I can, I work with a new little digital Olympus Pen.
It looks like my first camera. It is small and light, just like when I started.
