St Barth Photo Festival 2021 : Emergence at the Wallhouse Museum

Preview

Today, Tuesday, November 23rd, is opening the first St Barth Photo Festival 2021.

The Festival, located in Saint Barthelemy Island, starts with an exhibition at Wallhouse Museum called Emergence to recognize the new generation of Fashion photographers, followed by an impressive group of ten established photographers until the End of December.

Each photographer will be celebrated in a very Saint Barth way through a series of festive opening parties every night. The most coveted Five-star hotels of the Island have each dedicated an exhibition space to a photographer and host the events.

The opening parties start with Ellen von Unwerth on Wednesday the 24th, with Party Time, an exhibition entitled in the true spirit, held at the Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France.

Emergence showcases Laurent Poleo-Garnier and Camellia Ménard in partnership with Prix Picto de la Photographie de Mode at the Wall House Museum in Gustavia, a local heritage site filled with the Islands’ history. A prizewinner of Prix Picto de La Photographie de Mode 2021, Laurent Poleo-Garnier, has internalized the raw energy of Berlin to create “family of faces” portraits that express a tension between strength and fragility, poise and fate, color and neutrality.

Camellia Ménard is a French-Austrian artist living in St Barth and working internationally. Thanks to her compassionate, collaborative approach, her images bring gentleness and ease to her high fashion photography.
