Si Fest 2019 : Saro Di Bartolo – “Bangladesh”

Preview

This man is eclectic, open to everything, comfortable with everything, adaptable to all circles and a curiosity just limited by his instinct. Saro Di Bartolo worked as a photographer since 1969, simultaneously with his other activities. He has been a translator for many “important people of our world”. His passion remains photography, through his long time reports in different parts of the world. From the 1980s, he is actively involved by the possibilities offered by the internet and multimedia. This has earned him some prestigious awards and numerous publications.

His “Bangladesh” collection presented at Si Fest 2019 as a guest exhibition and attached to the festival.

All his images are free of comments, speeches or other rantings. They are all neat, clean, aesthetic, balanced, framed. It is obvious that Saro Di Bartolo is a perfectionist, meticulous in every detail, respectful of his subjects who appear with their surprise and a natural bonhomie. The mastery of the photographic tools leaves the space free to the quality and the spontaneity of the message, this tireless globe trotter understood very well that a “small picture is better than a long speech”. Saro Di Bartolo does not show us people, he makes us live among others, even when conditions of life are intolerable, and he suggests some grounds for optimism. This great witness escapes of photos of  the misery  to offer us true testimonies of life even if it is sometimes at the limit of the acceptable for some people.

Very nice work of immersion and adaptability in a foreign environment which is relayed by a flawless photographic quality at the level of the exhibited works.
