You only have a few days left to visit the second edition of the Festival du regards in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Sylvie Hugues, one of the event’s artistic directors, introduces us to this very young cultural event.
“At a time when pictures are increasingly virtual, when most of them are viewed quickly on screens before being thrown away, shared or often forgotten straight away, it seems necessary for me to put a value on the materiality of the photograph itself. A photograph is not only an image, it’s also a “physical” object through its print, its printing, its framing, its method of presentation. It’s all this artistic work around these “supports” that guided me in my choice of the artists shown. Supports that can never become more important than the photo itself, but that harmoniously accompany the meaning and the relevance of a creative work.”
