The look seems worn, yet it applies, methodical, determined: the intention is lucid and strong. The objective focuses the attention on the objects: the taking of hindsight is prevented, the spectator is captive. This meticulous inventory is not there to testify to the ritualized life of yesteryear: the authenticity here is a lure. Cleanliness, sobriety are artificial.
