Robert Frank : Valencia 1952

Preview

In 1950, Robert Frank left his job as a photographer in New York to travel across Europe with his family. That summer, he arrived in Valencia, Spain, at the time a humble place, struggling in the aftermath of the war like the rest of the country. Frank walked through the city and its outskirts, capturing daily life in a fishing village. This portrait of Valencia is tinged with a “humanity of the moment.” There is no other way to describe the photographs in this book but “beautiful.” Many of them have never been published. They remind readers of the charms of the medium.
