Every week, L’Oeil de la Photographie presents the radio program Regardez voir, produced by Brigitte Patient on France Inter. Meeting with Stéphane Lavoué in part of Festival ImageSingulières 2015 in Sète.
A photojournalist and portrait photographer, graduate of the Ecole Supérieure du Bois, Stéphanie Lavoué lived for two years in the Brazilian Amazon as a wood buyer for a French industrial group. Back in France starting in 2001, Lavoué moved to Paris and gave up wood for photography, working for the national and foreign press. His series The Northeast Kingdom is on display at the Festival ImageSingulières in Sète through May 31st and he participated in the project “La France vue d’Ici.”
Five years ago, he discovered a charming corner of the United States in Vermont, known as the “Northeast Kingdom.” This small region is characterized by its harsh landscapes and the people who live there. The series will also be on display at the Leica store in Paris from June 16th through September 30th, 2015.
