The Viviane Esders Endowment Fund announces the opening of the call for applications for the third edition of the Prix Viviane Esders.
You are a European photographer over 60 years old, you wish to highlight a unique artistic and photographic journey developed over several decades, you have until April 29, 2024 to submit your application.
The prize rewards each year the career of a professional European photographer over 60 years old, independent and still active.
In January 2022, Viviane Esders – collector and photography expert – launched the first edition of the Viviane Esders Prize. Each year, the prize recognizes an already recognized career path, the importance of which today deserves to be brought back to light and written more clearly in the history of photography. The prize pool amounts to €60,000, including €50,000 for the winner and €5,000 for each of the two other finalists. Preference is given to files presenting an approach to questioning the image, a unique writing of non-documentary reflection and a strong commitment.
The call for applications is open until April 29, 2024!
The jury will meet in June 2024 to select the three nominated photographers who will be revealed in June 2024. The winning photographer will be announced in October and the prize awarded in November at Paris Photo .
The three nominated photographers whose career and work have attracted the attention of the jury will have the opportunity, for several months, to be highlighted and to see their work highlighted.
