His meeting with Jean-Paul Goude would prove decisive. Jean-Paul came to New York to work as an art director forEsquire. Very soon he wanted to take his own photographs but lacked the technical knowledge. He called Pierre, and for the next ten years they worked together closely. It’s a shame that today Jean-Paul seems to have forgotten about those years. Even more shocking was that at the most recent retrospective of his work at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Pierre’s name was nowhere to be found.
