Launched in April 2011 PhotoVogue is the platform of ” Vogue.it” dedicated to the new wave of photography talents: a community that under the curatorial direction of Alessia Glaviano, the support of Chiara Bardelli Nonino and, starting this year, the collaboration of Francesca Marani has now reached over 125,000 users. Dedicated to promoting and showcasing photography excellence, Vogue.it photography platform has lent its support to talent that through the years have collected international accolades and shot editorials for acclaimed publications.
This exhibition organized as part of the Photo Vogue Festival is the result of a scouting project launched to discover the best talent in fashion photography and of the screening carried out by a panel of international experts consisting of Franca Sozzani, Alessia Glaviano, Paolo Roversi, Jimmy Moffat (Founder and Managing Director of Art + Commerce) Michael Van Horne (Art + Commerce), gallerists Peter MacGill and Michael Hoppen, Azu Nwagbogu (Founder and Director of the Lagos Photo Festival), Florence Bourgeois (Director of Paris Photo) and Charlotte Cotton (writer and curator). Among PhotoVogue’s 125,000 users, the artist that achieved the broadest consensus among the experts was Kiki Xue, born in 1987 in China, who will shoot an editorial spread for Vogue Italia.
In addition, the panel selected the 30 best photographers who will be featured in the exhibition: Andrew Tarnawczyk, Antonina Zharko, Can Sever, Carmen Mitrotta, Clara Giaminardi, Cristina Coral, Dagmar van Weeghel, Formento + Formento, Gioconda & August, Guoman Liao, Isabel Martínez, Julia Grossi, Justine Tjallinks, Kenta Nakamura, Kiki Xue, Lei Gao, Louis Philippe de Gagoue, Lusha Alic, Lydia Gorges, Mária Švarbová, Marie Zucker, Marta Bevacqua, Remi Rebillard, Romina Ressia, Scande- bergs, Simone Steenberg, Synchrodogs, Tania Kezha, Turkina Faso, Uldus Bakhtiozina.
