Polka Gallery is presenting for the first time the work of Petra Sedlaczek until February 23, 2013. The 20 photographs on view, taken from the series Long Island , shows the intimacy of night on the beaches of New York Bay. It was by observing her husband, the famous photographer Peter Lindbergh, that the German photographer mastered her camera and learned to play with light.
Sedlaczek prefers to work in the intimacy of night. In search of traces of what happened during the day, her photographs bear witness to absence, solitude and the beauty of night. The photographer can be placed in the tradition of artists who have perceived the landscape as a place of inscription.
