Paris Photo 2011 –Jean Brolly (France)

Introduction
The special feature of this gallery is the personality of Jean Brolly. Jean Brolly (born in 1941) is a contemporary art lover who has always sought to maintain close ties with the artists he believes in and who have given their friendship in return. His collection reflects the history of his contacts. At the time of his retirement, he decided to open a gallery in order to gain a tool for disseminating publicly and going beyond the circle of private relations. The gallery opened its doors in January 2002. It is located in the Marais, near the Pompidou Center and occupies an area of 150 m2 under a glass roof.

What is your point of view on the financial side of the photographic market today ?
The gallery doesn’t specialize in photography. Instead, we reach a customer closer to that of the visual arts. The public and collectors are much more open to this medium. There is no more reluctance to buying photographs, as could be seen in the 80’s. In most collections, there are artists who work in this medium and many artists, even if they are not photographers, use this technique in their work. Jean-Paul Robin
