Introduction
James Hyman Photography has the fastest growing photography programme in London, exhibiting, sourcing and presenting the highest quality vintage and contemporary works with a special focus on British Social Photography from Fox-Talbot to the present.
After years of exhibiting under the James Hyman Gallery name, the successful growth of the photography programme has emerged as James Hyman Photography.
James Hyman Photography is the UK representative for a prestigious selection of contemporary British artists including Anna Fox, Ken Grant, Paul Reas, Andy Sewell, and Jem Southam.
In addition to a programme of contemporary exhibitions, the gallery also deals in vintage photographs from the Nineteenth and Twentieth Century with a particular emphasis on American and European Modernism, from Edward Weston and F/64 to Kertész, Brassaï, Man Ray and the Surrealists in Paris.
James Hyman Photography actively seeks to develop photography in the UK through a strong exhibition programme and by offering a selection of the highest quality photography.
James Hyman also supports an emerging generation of photographers as both a sponsor and judge of the National Media Museum, Bradford Photography Awards.
The gallery also has a history of publishing photography books and supporting external publications and exhibition catalogues.
A member of the Association of International Photography Art Dealers, James Hyman Photography remains committed to sourcing and supplying the highest quality vintage and contemporary photography both from its London gallery space and through international fairs including the AIPAD photography fair in New York and Paris Photo.

What is your point of view on the financial side of the photographic market today ?
“We are pleased with the strength of the vintage photography market in the last year. We have found great success with rare 19th and early-20th Century Master works.
Regarding contemporary work, we have shifted focus toward Contemporary British Artists and have found the institutional interest particularly strong. For example, the prestigious National Media Museum in Bradford has just acquired from us over 100 photographs by Anna Fox.” James Hyman
