Paris: Maia Flore at La Belle Juliette

The new exhibition organized by Galerie Esther Woerdehoff at Hotel & Spa La Belle Juliette is presenting a selection of photographs by Maia Flore.  Coming from several series, this choice gives an overview of the work of this young photographer, rewarded the 20th HSBC Prize last year.  From impressions, from awakened dreams, Maia Flore appropriates a space and lives in its presence, mixing landscape and portrait photography.  Her graceful silhouette and long red hair connect with the decor.  She creates enchanted images, pictures of ordinary fairytales, with a great delicateness.  These works, lengthily elaborated in writing and in the form of a sketch before becoming photographs, are radiant poems of a toned, rigorous composition with a touch of surrealism.
