Oana Ivan Gallery presents Beyond Borders, au delà des frontières, an exhibition by Aline Coquelle.
Aline Coquelle shares her admiration and deep friendship with three great photographers, masters of their fields: Peter Beard, Don McCullin, and Mirella Ricciardi. The true common thread between these three photographers perhaps lies in the need to photograph and document not remaining on the surface of things and beings. They each transcend, in their own way, what they see before their eyes. Continuing in their footsteps and inspired by their work, Aline Coquelle photographs without alteration, yet with true subjectivity. A sincere connection with her subject shines through and gives the image its unique character.
Through her photographs, she reveals to us the stories, experiences, and perspectives of those we don’t always hear from here. Bringing back these images takes us across borders and brings together peoples, moments of lives that might never have crossed paths otherwise.
