Jean Denis Walter has opened the 3rd edition of the Sportfolio festival in Narbonne. This year there are 15 exhibitions that have been organised in the heart of the small commune of Aude. With many impending sporting events this month, such as Roland Garros, Euro 2016 and also the Le Mans 24 Hour Race, L’Oeil de la Photographie is going to share an aspect of Sportfolio 2016 with you every day for six weeks.
Today our focus is on the exhibition « Tracks » with photographs by Bruno Charoy.
“Tracks” is a long-term project, realised in 2014/2015 by Bruno Charoy.
It is a personal work about race tracks and world of horseracing that has fascinated him for a long time.
Bruno has wandered around courses with evocative names such as Vincennes, Chantilly, Compiègne and Longchamp for an immersive, poetic journey through a world with its very particular codes and rituals.
Everything about horseracing interests him, from the stables to the competitions, but also the many people for whom horses are far more than animals.
Well known for his portrait work, which is regularly featured in leading magazines and papers, Bruno Charoy has the chance to show another side to his talents here.
