The Pattern Shop Studio presents a group exhibition entitled The Origins of Photography, Past and Present, through May 2nd, 2015.

The Origins of Photography is a survey of handmade alternative processes. From the more familiar analog methods of Film, Darkroom and Silver prints to the long forgotten 19th century photographic processes such as Daguerreotypes, Wet Plate Collodion Tintypes, Ambrotypes, Cyanotypes, Bromoil, Gum, Salt, Platinum, Photogravure, a wide range of alternative processes will be on display or demonstrated. These previously abandoned processes are experiencing a major worldwide revival. Millennials as well as seasoned professionals are rediscovering, with wonderment and awe, these once forgotten methods of capturing images. Unplug from the digital world and come to experience firsthand the unique beauty of these photographic processes.
