Starting in 1974 with a show by Dan Flavin, the gallery’s international program focuses in contemporary art, new tendencies and photography. In the 1970s, the Studio Trisorio was one of the first galleries to introduce photography . Providing exhibition space in the Gallery, from 1970 until the end of the 1980s, the Trisorio family provided major contemporary artists with a very special working place , namely at Villa Orlandi in Anacapri. Artists such as Cy Twombly, Jannis Kounellis, Joseph Beuys, Mario Merz, Sol LeWitt, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Luigi Ontani, Kenny Scharf, Cindy Sherman, Ettore Spalletti, Marco Bagnoli and many others stayed there for long periods. The Studio Trisorio was a precursor in presenting an International Review of Video Art in the early 1980s showing the first experiments in video art and included works by, among others, Nam June Paik, Bill Viola and Bruce Nauman. Since 1996 the gallery promotes contemporary art through Artecinema, a Festival of documentary films on contemporary art. The gallery participates each year in major art fairs.
